The Crane Axle Dana 60 King Pin Spring Eliminator Kit is designed to replace the factory kingpin spring assembly with a more stable and durable preload system for kingpin Dana 60 front axles. Built for vehicles running larger tires, increased steering load
The Crane Axle Dana 60 King Pin Spring Eliminator Kit is designed to replace the factory kingpin spring assembly with a more stable and durable preload system for kingpin Dana 60 front axles. Built for vehicles running larger tires, increased steering load, hydraulic assist steering, or aggressive off-road use, this system improves steering consistency by eliminating spring compression and unwanted kingpin movement under load.
This kit combines Crane Axles heavy durometer preload bushings with a complete lower kingpin bearing and seal service package to restore steering stability and reduce slop commonly associated with worn kingpin components. Designed for both OEM and aftermarket Dana 60 kingpin knuckles, the system is compatible with stock steering and high steer configurations used in trail rigs, race vehicles, and heavy-duty street applications.

Tech Insight
Factory Dana 60 kingpin springs are a common weak point in lifted and off-road vehicles because the spring preload system can compress and wear over time. As steering loads increase from larger tires, hydraulic assist systems, and aggressive terrain, the factory spring system may allow excessive kingpin movement, steering looseness, and death wobble.
The Crane Axle Spring Eliminator replaces the factory spring arrangement with heavy durometer bushings that provide more consistent preload under load. Combined with fresh kingpin bearings and seals, the system improves steering stability and reduces unwanted movement while maintaining proper kingpin resistance. Preload can be fine-tuned using the included shims to achieve proper steering feel and knuckle resistance.
