At the heart of the Sidewinder system is Winters fail-safe gated shifter design, which uses a notched steel guard to make it mechanically impossible to accidentally shift into reverse from a forward gearan essential safety feature in technical terrain and competition environments.
The console is designed for floor mounting, but it can be removed entirely if you prefer to mount the shifter directly into a dash or custom console using Winters multi-position side plates (such as P/N 6636-02).
