Dana 60 and Dana 61 front axles are widely used in heavy-duty truck and off-road applications because of their large ring gear size, strong pinion support, and high load capacity. However, larger tires, towing loads, suspension lifts, and off-road use place significant stress on bearings, preload components, and seals.
During differential service or gear replacement, replacing bearings, races, crush sleeves, and shim packs is critical to maintaining proper backlash and pinion preload.
